Nurse Unit Manager (RN)

Location: Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center.
Employment Type: Full-Time.

Position Summary:
Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Nurse Unit Manager. The Unit Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day nursing operations on the assigned unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care in compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Coordinate and oversee daily nursing care services for the assigned unit in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Supervise nursing staff to ensure the timely and appropriate delivery of care, including medication administration, treatments, nursing rehabilitation programs, and personal care services.
  • Delegate responsibility, authority, and accountability to nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective unit operations.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations, initiate disciplinary actions when necessary, and participate in employee counseling and termination processes.
  • Foster positive working relationships with nursing staff, interdisciplinary departments, physicians, and consultants.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with residents and families to assess needs, coordinate care, and provide updates regarding changes in resident condition.
  • Conduct regular unit rounds to ensure quality care delivery, resident safety, and the protection of resident rights.
  • Perform admission and ongoing resident assessments to develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and resident care conferences.
  • Collaborate with physicians regarding resident care plans, promptly communicate changes in condition, and ensure physician orders are implemented accurately.
  • Provide direct resident care as needed.
  • Complete and review medical records, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory and facility guidelines.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings related to unit operations, quality improvement, and resident care.
  • Communicate identified issues, quality concerns, and staffing matters to nursing administration and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in quality management and quality assurance activities as directed.
  • Assist with staff orientation, training, and nurse aide education.
  • Participate in regulatory surveys conducted by governmental agencies and support compliance efforts.
  • Participate in on-call nursing administration responsibilities as assigned.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings, in-service education, and professional development programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on facility and resident needs.

Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Prior experience in long-term care or rehabilitation preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and clinical best practices in long-term care.
