Join Our Team as a Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist
Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. This is a part-time position working approximately 20 hours per week in our skilled nursing and long-term care facility.
The ideal candidate is dedicated to helping residents achieve their highest level of communication, cognitive function, and swallowing safety while providing exceptional, resident-centered care.
Position Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, develops, and implements individualized treatment plans for residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders. Working closely with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and families, the SLP plays an integral role in maximizing each resident's functional independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical assessments.
- Provide skilled speech therapy services in accordance with professional standards and facility policies.
- Perform bedside swallowing evaluations and make dietary recommendations in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, PDPM, and facility requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and discharge planning.
- Communicate resident progress and changes in condition to physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation team members.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of dysphagia management, cognitive therapy, communication disorders, and PDPM is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
