Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Food Service Director to oversee the daily operations of our Dietary/Food Service Department. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who is committed to providing high-quality, nutritious meals and exceptional service to our residents while maintaining compliance with all federal and New York State regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all daily operations of the Food Service/Dietary Department.
- Ensure residents receive nutritious, appealing, and appropriately prepared meals according to their individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate dietary employees.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, NYS Department of Health, and applicable food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Work closely with the Dietitian, Nursing Department, Administrator, and interdisciplinary team regarding resident nutritional needs.
- Review menus and ensure appropriate therapeutic and special diets are provided.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, meal temperatures, presentation, and service.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, inventory rotation, and sanitation procedures.
- Manage food ordering, inventory, purchasing, and department expenses while maintaining budgetary controls.
- Conduct regular department audits and implement corrective action when necessary.
- Respond appropriately to resident concerns and ensure resident satisfaction with meals and dining services.
- Maintain accurate dietary records and required documentation.
- Ensure staff follow infection control, food safety, and workplace safety procedures.
- Participate in surveys, inspections, QAPI initiatives, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure adequate staffing and efficient department operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Food Service Director/Dietary Director, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility.
- Knowledge of long-term care dietary regulations and food safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage staff and departmental operations effectively.
- Experience with menu planning, therapeutic diets, purchasing, inventory, and budgeting.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred, as applicable.
- Knowledge of CMS and New York State Department of Health requirements preferred.
