Food Service Director - Long Term Care Facility
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and hands on Food Service Director to join our team at a skilled nursing and long-term care facility. The Food Service Director is responsible for overseeing all dietary operations, ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the dietary department.
- Supervise dietary staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served according to physician orders, therapeutic diets, and resident preferences.
- Maintain compliance with Department of Health regulations, sanitation standards, and infection control policies.
- Manage food ordering, inventory, budgeting, and cost control.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident nutritional needs.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and operating properly.
- Promote a positive dining experience for residents and families.
Qualifications:
- Previous food service management experience required, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and dietary regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage staff and work in a fast-paced environment.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal LTC dietary requirements preferred.
