Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Facilities Director to oversee the Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments within our long-term care facility. The Facilities Director is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, functional, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining all regulatory standards and facility operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and Department of Health regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate department staff.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Coordinate repairs, inspections, and facility improvement projects.
- Manage department budgets, inventory, and purchasing of supplies/equipment.
- Ensure proper operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and emergency systems.
- Monitor housekeeping and laundry quality standards and infection control practices.
- Respond promptly to environmental or safety concerns.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and disaster planning.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience in healthcare, long-term care, or healthcare facilities management preferred.
- Knowledge of maintenance systems, housekeeping operations, laundry services, and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple departments effectively.
- Understanding of infection control and life safety regulations preferred.
- Proficiency with work orders, scheduling, and basic computer systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or related education preferred.
