Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our dietary team in a long-term care facility. The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appetizing meals in accordance with physician orders, resident dietary needs, and facility standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
- Ensure meals meet dietary requirements, including modified and therapeutic diets.
- Review production sheets and prepare food in appropriate quantities.
- Maintain proper food temperatures and adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with food prep, portioning, and plating as needed.
- Ensure kitchen, equipment, and work areas are clean and sanitized at all times.
- Receive, store, and rotate food supplies according to regulations.
- Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments.
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations, including sanitation and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets is a plus.
- Ability to read and follow recipes and production sheets.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
