Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. CNAs play a vital role in assisting residents with daily living activities while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff.
- Assist with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies.
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and individualized care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Uphold resident rights and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
