Position Summary:
The Central Supply Person is responsible for maintaining an organized and adequately stocked central supply area while ensuring that nursing units and departments receive the supplies they need in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced long-term care environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize the central supply room and inventory.
- Monitor supply levels and identify items that need to be reordered.
- Distribute supplies to nursing units and other departments as needed.
- Receive, check, and properly store incoming supplies.
- Rotate supplies and monitor expiration dates.
- Keep supply areas clean, neat, and organized.
- Communicate supply needs and shortages to appropriate management.
- Follow facility policies and procedures regarding infection control, safety, and storage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in central supply, inventory, healthcare, or a long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move supply boxes as required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, responsible, and detail-oriented.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, staff, vendors, and management.
